Speech Screening

A speech and language screening is a quick, informal check of a child’s communication skills to determine if there might be any areas of concern. During the screening, a certified speech-language pathologist assesses how your child understands and uses language, articulates sounds, and communicates with others.

The screening helps identify whether your child’s speech or language development is on track or if a more in-depth evaluation might be needed. Screenings are simple, friendly, and take only a few minutes — giving parents peace of mind and supporting early intervention if necessary.

Payment & Insurance Information

At this time, screening services are self-pay. We are now accepting Aetna Insurance carriers. We are currently undergoing the insurance credentialing process (BCBS, Cigna and United Healthcare) and do not yet participate as an in-network provider for those listed.

Payment is due at the time of service ($50.00 via check written out to The Croom Legacy Center, LLC or card via link sent to you).

Speech Therapy Services

At our speech clinic, we believe every voice matters and every individual deserves the opportunity to build a lasting legacy through confident communication. Our speech-language pathologists provide personalized evaluations and therapy for children with speech, oral motor, language, social communication, and fluency challenges.

Using evidence-based approaches, we create individualized therapy plans that support meaningful progress both in the clinic and at home. By partnering with families and caregivers, we help individuals strengthen their communication skills, express themselves with confidence, and carry their voice forward into every stage of life.

Payment & Insurance Information

At this time, services are self-pay. We are now accepting Aetna Insurance carriers. We are currently undergoing the insurance credentialing process (BCBS, Cigna and United Healthcare) and do not yet participate as an in-network provider for those listed.

Payment is due at the time of service ($70.00 via check written out to The Croom Legacy Center, LLC or card via link sent to you). Upon request, we can provide a detailed receipt (superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan, and we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to confirm benefits.

Speech, Language & Fluency Evaluations

A comprehensive evaluation is the first step in understanding communication strengths, challenges, and next steps. Our speech, language, and fluency evaluations are designed to provide clear answers, practical recommendations, and a personalized plan of care.

Each evaluation is individualized and uses evidence-based assessment tools, clinical observation, and client or caregiver input to gain a complete picture of communication skills.

What We Evaluate

Depending on your concerns, an evaluation may assess:

• Speech sound production and clarity

• Expressive and receptive language skills

• Fluency (stuttering or cluttering)

• Voice and oral-motor skills

• Social communication and pragmatic language

Session Length

Evaluations typically last 60–90 minutes, depending on age, areas of concern, and testing needs. Additional time is required for scoring, analysis, and report writing, which is completed outside of the evaluation session.

What to Expect

• A detailed intake and background review

• One-on-one assessment in a supportive environment

• Informal and standardized testing as appropriate

• Time for questions and discussion

After the Evaluation

You will receive a comprehensive written report outlining results, clinical impressions, and individualized recommendations. A follow-up conversation is included to review findings, answer questions, and discuss next steps, which may include therapy, home or school strategies, or referrals as needed.
